Sweet nostalgic reflections on life.

Chocolate dice filled with Strawberries, Honey and Macadamias.

A die (plural dice, from Old French , from Latin datum “something which is given or played.

The creations of the three pictures eventuated after my usual brainstorming with the very talented Ayca. What started out as experimenting in creating 3D visual images, I said to Ayca, “ some chocolate dice would be fun”. A great angle for marketing our products.

Look what I found when spring cleaning my computer files the other day. It brings back the warm fuzzy feeling that we can meet and stay in touch with the special people in our lives. The positive side of social media is real and has made distance tangible. A good vintage is always a constant happy hour as  a gift from telecommunications.

A luxurious gift made with couverture chocolate. www.choc.com.au The first product of the Fardoulis Chocolates Series was created to represent premium design Chocolate Mobile Phones. A CHILD’S VIEW

One of my enjoyments is playing Hangman with the Willy Wonka Juniors. Georgina and Emanuel Fardoulis, on an Apple IPad.

It is an application game downloaded from iTunes. One player adds a word to begin. The second player has a number of chances to guess the word. The laughter and joy of playing this game is gratifying, engaging fun, learning to spell with a child. The most challenging element I find, the shorter vowel words, the more difficult it is to win. There are many words that sound and are spelled alike, however, have a different meaning.

Georgina has quickly learnt to outsmart me when playing with words. She listens before she acts. Calculating her next pounce like a kitten, amusing with her awareness. Emanuel uses his gift of rambling in public relations. He is a people’s person, gifted in communicating, his sharing nature is of no surprise. Always giving me clues to assist me win the game..! Whispering in my ear!

Georgina is laughing in the background as she watches my wrong choice in a letter of the alphabet. Giggling with happiness as she hears the sound of a bell ring ‘game over’, she jumps up & down “I win I win”…!

When visiting the Fardoulis Chocolates factory recently, I asked them why don’t we play a new game. You can assist me in ‘The Offer’ and promoting a gift box of chocolates.

This came about when Georgina was listening to a conversation. She asked how to spell ‘SALE ‘ and I replied with, “What are you referring to? A SALE or a SAIL on a boat?”

Georgina is well aware of chocolate gifting, especially when it comes to her friends at school. We started by learning some new words and their relevance to a promotion. Finishing with her offer, a gift box of chocolates. Continue reading »

It is not unusual when asked what we do? I often wonder how to answer that question. So  the story begins. I answer with “I  have a chocolate factory”.

Without hesitation I wait for the next question after the usual reaction ‘Wow’. How did you start a chocolate factory?  Well I didn’t…

Willy Wonka did..!  My endearing name for the idea, creation, passion and perseverance of Constantinos Fardoulis.

Fardoulis is a family name which originated from Kythera, Greece. Known as the island of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, it is of no surprise to me that chocolate is also considered as the’ Food of the Gods’.

Constantinos had the dream of creating chocolates. In 1985 I knew very little about chocolate or confectionary making. Tempering, viscosity, enrobing, blooming & couverture - the language of Belgium, Swiss and French chocolate artisans.

Andrianna’s Poem

When I looked at the orange burnt sky where twilight meets the horizon.

The paradox is far more complex as the story unfolds.

Where the dawn awakens within is.

Being in love with a stranger one can assimilate the familiarity like writing the novel  itself.

Crossing the desert surrounded by stretches of foreign land our eyes are blinded by dust blown from the sandstorms.

Fatigue takes our strength and starts to play on our thoughts with hallucinated images of an oasis.

The calm waters wraps around our heart, like a security blanket we held as a child.

The clouds will pass, tomorrow will bring a blue sky.

The chocolate sunset of dusk with rays of light filled comfort.

BURNT ORANGE SKY
